I really admire cosplayers that knows the character they’re cosplaying and not so much the ones that : ”I just saw it, google some pics and cosplayed it”.

That happens to me a lot of times with cosplayers at Cons. A lot of League of legends cosplayers that don’t even know ANYTHING about  the game. Same thing for “Final Fantasy series” and a lot of more others famous games and anime. Just ask a peculiar question about the series of characters and they don’t know how to answer.

I’m a bit bummed out thinking that some people think  that seeing a character picture, video promo of the game or AMV and cosplaying it makes them a cosplayer. You are suppose to be that character, so know everything about him and his personality. Cosplay shouldn’t be just a parade with an “outfit” you like. If you don’t know the character and you cosplay it, you’re a phony. This hobby is peculiar enough that we don’t need someone looking for their “15 minutes of fame” around. I’m not pointing my finger against anyone in particular, but please, have enough dignity and respect for yourself  and avoid doing things like this, because it’s ridiculous.

I can’t really understand why could people make things like this. For me, doing like this is a waste of time and money. And it’s a really wrong behavior towards those who do every cosplay with true passion, and not just trying to win a cosplay contest.

Ammiro realmente molto i cosplayer che conoscono in ogni particolare il personaggio che stanno interpretando quanto non reggo quelli che: ” L’ho visto, ho cercato qualche immagine su google e ho fatto il suo cosplay”.

Mi è successo un sacco di volte di incontrare persone di questo genere alle fiere. Un bordello di cosplayer di League of Legends non sanno minimamente nulla sul gioco. Stessa cosa per quanto riguarda “Final Fantasy”, e tanti altri videogiochi e anime popolari, una domanda mirata e rimangono tutti a boccheggiare come pesci fuor d’aqua.

Mi deprime un po pensare al fatto che certe persone pensino basti vedere una immagine del personaggio, una apparizione su un trailer commerciale sul gioco o un amv  e farne il cosplay per considerarsi cosplayer. Si suppone che dovresti “essere” quel personaggio, quindi conoscere tutto quello che lo riguarda e tutte le sfumature della sua personalità. Il cosplay non dovrebbe essere giusto una sfilata con un “outfit” che piace. Se non conosci un personaggio e ne fai il cosplay, sei un/a ciarlatano/a -poser. Questo hobby è già tanto particolare che penso non ci sia bisogno di qualcuno che cerchi solo di avere i suoi “15 minuti di popolarità”. Non sto puntando il dito su nessuno in particolare, ma per favore, abbiate la dignità e il rispetto verso voi stessi da evitare di fare cose di questo tipo, perché è ridicolo.

Io non riesco a capire perché le persone ragionino così. Per me, fare cose di questo genere è solo uno spreco di tempo e soldi. Ed è un ragionamento abbastanza sbagliato nei confronti di chi i cosplay li fa con vera passione e non solo per vincere qualche cosplay contest.

E voi che ne pensate? Vi siete mai trovati davanti un “cosplayer poser” in fiera? Vi sentite nello stesso modo in cui mi sento io?
